The El Faro Escandinavo (Scandinavian Lighthouse) is situated only 20 miles south of Manta and therefore, it is easily to access by plane from Quito or Guayaquil and by road from Guayaquil. The Bed & Breakfast hotel is in the small village of San Lorenzo directly at the sea front with a terrace leading onto the beach.

Here you can enjoy sun, sand and sea in quiet luxury.

Accommodation

The hotel offers eight separate bungalows which are in a tropical garden. They have either double beds or twin beds. The rooms have split air condition, running hot water and a small roofed terrace.

Facilities & Services

The main building contains social areas, bar and dining room. A large collection of classical music and a varied library are at your disposal. They provide internet service and cable TV.
By the pool you will find sun beds and pool towels provided free of charge.
The lighthouse has an observation platform on top, where you can watch whales during the season (July to September) or simply enjoy a drink by sunset.
Faro Escandinavo is primarily a place to relax, but they can also offer some exciting excursions and activities such as:

- Walk in the San Lorenzo cloud forest to look for the mantled howler monkeys.
- Visit the village of Pile, home to the best Panama hat weavers.
- Visit the archeological site of Agua Blanca and Los Frailes beach on the Machalilla National Park.
- Shopping excursion in the towns of Montecristi and Manta.

Christmas (Dec 20 - Jan 1) Carnival, Easter (Thursday - Monday) and All Saints Day weekend have a 25 % supplement.
