This eco-friendly lodge — located in the heart of the Ecuadorian Amazon rainforest — is situated in an expansive 2,330 square mile wildlife reserve teeming with orchids and gardenias, macaws and toucans, as well as Red howler monkeys and Pink river dolphins. The Jamu Lodge experience is an authentic Amazon basin adventure at its best. A stay at the Jamu Lodge offers an endless possibility of activities – from visiting a local indigenous community to trekking through “Terra Firme” forest, or experiencing wetland swamps, swimming in a lagoon, or going on educational jungle hikes. In fact, the Jamu Lodge is the perfect spot to find freshwater Pink river dolphins, caimans, anacondas and the infamous piranha. Plus, more than 500 species of birds and more than 10 species of monkeys make their home in this part of the Ecuador rainforest, where one can also find an incredible record of 307 species of trees per hectare. One of the principal objectives of both the Jamu Lodge and the Cuyabeno Reserve is the ongoing conservation of the Amazonian ecosystem – the most complex ecosystem in the world. The lodge, therefore, practices a policy of minimum environmental impact. All of the lodge’s cabañas are lit naturally with candles to conserve energy, protect the rainforest and preserve the feeling of being in a remote jungle. At the same time, solar panels provide guests with electricity to recharge their cameras and other equipment, as well as to operate the lodge’s telephone. The lodge’s belief in true eco-tourism is intended to make a stay as comfortable as possible while preserving the beauty of the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve for future generations.

Trip Advisor Reviews
